TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Assembly (Tasmania)

We, the undersigned residents of Tasmania, draw to the attention of the House the need to expand and strengthen Tasmania's electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Your petitioners call on the House to note that:

1. Tasmania's current network of electric vehicle chargers is inadequate in number and frequently unreliable.

2. The electric vehicle charging infrastructure is complicated, with the need for multiple network accounts.

3. The ongoing supply crisis of petroleum-based fuels due to war in the Middle East is resulting in increased demand from Tasmanians for electric vehicles.

4. Efforts to decarbonise transport will lead to greater uptake of electric vehicles.

5. The growing uptake of electric vehicles in Tasmania will increase demand for a more reliable and extensive charging network.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to call on the Government to fund and facilitate the expansion of Tasmania's electric vehicle charging network, and ensure the network is consistently reliable and accessible to the public.
